Happy New Year! This blog is a personal blog meant to help me document “stuff” like; favorite recipes, random thoughts, food and travel adventures, and whatever else happens to grab my attention at any particular time. In short, its like my online journal.
I have been planning on starting a personal blog for quite awhile but those who know me know I am really awesome at procrastinating. So, it was one of my New Years resolutions (2012) to get this up and running and, yay me! First resolution complete!!(I am not sharing the rest of my resolutions at this point, lets not jinx it while I am already ahead.)
I am a wife (to a man who works crazy hours) and a mom of 3 kids, (15), (14) and (6), who are all involved in too many activities that keep us running all over the city, many times each week. I am also working really hard at getting us all eating healthier, which is a huge commitment and a lot of work, but allows me to do a lot more cooking/experimenting (which I love).
I’ve been a self employed professional photographer for almost 18 years and I am based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. If you’re interested, you can visit my business blog here.
In the fall of 2015 I am going to be attending culinary school (SAIT). Why? I’m nuts, that why! Ok, so really its just something I want to do. I have a passion for learning everything I can about food and cooking. I’m not getting any younger here, so I figured, if not now, then when? I happen to be lucky enough to live in the city that is home to the best cooking school in Canada. I’m pretty sure this is going to be a HUGE adventure, especially considering I haven’t been in school and tied to a schedule, that someone else sets for me, since I attended photography school, way back in 1997. I’m hoping to share that adventure here on this blog. No promises though, I’m still not awesome at blogging on a regular basis. That is one new years resolution that I still break, every single year!
School full time, running a business, taking care of our home and three kids. Life is busy, my plate is full, and I wouldn’t have it any other way…..except maybe I’d choose to live someplace exotic (or European) instead. 😉
